Security forces near the Pak-Afghan border have claimed to have foiled an attempt by armed men to enter Pakistan. According to the army, 15 terrorists were killed in the operation.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the security forces tracked the movement of terrorists in the border area and targeted them before they entered Pakistan. Several terrorists were killed during the operation.
According to the ISPR, the killed individuals belonged to Fitnat al-Kharij.
Security forces have also launched a clearance operation in the area after the operation. According to officials, the aim of this move is to eliminate any potential threat in the area and to assess the presence of other accomplices of the terrorists.
According to the ISPR, a large number of arms and ammunition have been recovered from the possession of the slain individuals. Security agencies are continuing to monitor suspicious movements in the border areas.
The ISPR said that terrorists were trying to disrupt the peace and order situation in Pakistan. The statement also criticised the Afghan Taliban government and said that effective measures were not taken to prevent the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan.
According to the military, security measures on the border with Afghanistan need to be made more effective. The ISPR said that the Afghan authorities must fulfill their responsibility of not allowing their soil to be used against any other country.
