18 members of the National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have submitted their resignations from various standing committees to the Speaker’s Office. Those who resigned include Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar, Faisal Amin Gandapur, Ali Asghar Khan, and other leaders.

According to sources, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Junaid Akbar, Aamir Dogar, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Shehryar Afridi, and Asif Khan have also submitted their resignations.

Barrister Gohar told the media that he has resigned from four committees—Law and Justice, Human Rights, IT, and the House Business Advisory Committee. He said that PTI always tried to remain a part of the system so that the parliamentary process could continue, but resignations were inevitable in the current situation.

The PTI chairman further said that the party had 180 seats in the National Assembly while it had a two-thirds majority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but our leaders were martyred, and founding chairman Imran Khan was unjustly imprisoned. Despite this, we tried to pave the way for negotiations.

He said that currently there are no negotiations at any level, but the door to talks is still open for the future of the country and the nation.

It should be noted that a few days ago, founding chairman Imran Khan had directed party members to submit their resignations from the standing committees.
