Karachi: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced an emergency grant of $3 million for the flood-affected people of Pakistan.

ADB said in a statement that the bank’s president visited the flood-affected areas of the Ravi River in Lahore and closely reviewed the situation.

The ADB president said in his statement that Pakistan is facing massive loss of life and property due to the recent monsoon rains and severe floods, and this fund has been allocated for immediate assistance to the victims.
According to experts, this aid will definitely provide temporary relief, but there is a dire need for a disaster management plan and infrastructure improvement on a permanent basis.
