The Punjab government has decided to include artificial intelligence (AI) as a compulsory subject in government schools in the province. The government says that this move will provide students with a basic understanding of modern technology and prepare them for future educational and employment requirements.

According to officials, through AI education, students will be made aware of the basic concepts of this technology and its use in daily life. Along with this, focus will also be placed on improving critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills in students.

The Punjab government is also working on improving digital facilities in educational institutions. In this regard, attention will be paid to modernizing the computer laboratories of government schools and providing opportunities for students to use technology practically.

Teacher training will also be an important part of advancing AI education in a better way. Teachers will be made aware of the basic principles of artificial intelligence and its educational uses through training programs.

The government is of the opinion that technology is rapidly changing the fields of education and employment. In such a situation, introducing students to modern technology at the school level itself can help them better prepare for the needs of the future.

The decision to make AI a part of the education system in Punjab has come at a time when artificial intelligence is being used rapidly in education, business, industry and other sectors around the world.

According to officials, the aim of this initiative is not only to provide technical information about AI but also to prepare students for the responsible and effective use of technology. However, the final procedure for the full implementation of this program, the relevant classes and the details of the curriculum will be clearer after official instructions.
