Amin Lodhi appointed Deputy Governor of State Bank of Pakistan

A notification issued by the federal government has announced the direct appointment of Amin Lodhi as the Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for a period of five years.
Lodhi, who was holding the post of Executive Director of the Monetary Policy and Research Group, has now assumed the important post. The appointment signals further strengthening of the country’s monetary policy-making and research framework.
The government has clarified that his tenure will be for five years, which is in line with the central bank’s internal rules and the stipulated tenure conditions. The decision means that Lodhi will play a key role in shaping monetary discipline, policy research and monetary strategies in the coming years.
