Islamabad: Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari has responded to the statement of former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, calling his information false.

In his statement, Awais Leghari clarified that the new policy does not include “gross metering,” but “net billing” is being implemented. Under net billing, consumers will be able to directly use the power they generate, and the additional power will be purchased at Rs 10 per unit, he said. Elaborating further, he informed that the tariff for old net metering customers will remain at Rs 27 per unit, while for new customers it will be Rs 10 per unit.
