Baqir Qalibaf warns America of a strong response in case of an attack on Iran

New regional security system messages to Iran

There are fears of further escalation of military tensions between Iran and the US. Iranian Parliament Speaker Baqir Qalibaf has warned that any action against Iran’s territorial integrity and sovereignty will be responded to in a severe manner. This statement comes at a time when Iran has claimed to have shot down a US drone near the southern city of Bandar Abbas and reports have also emerged regarding possible preparations for US and Israeli attacks.

Qalibaf’s clear message to the US

Baqer Qalibaf, addressing the Iranian parliament session on Sunday, said that Iran will not be intimidated by any military threat. According to him, in the event of an attack on the country’s soil, a response will be given that the opposing side will not expect.

He urged the US to change its behaviour, abandon its policy of pressure and make practical reparations for violations of past promises. According to Qalibaf, without these steps, confidence in Washington’s claims cannot be restored.

The Iranian speaker compared the current Iran to the era of Reza Shah Pahlavi, saying that the country is no longer under the influence of foreign powers. He argued that sanctions, threats of military action and talk of targeting the leadership cannot make Iran give up its national interests.

Qalibaf described the current conflict as a failure of US policy and said that Washington itself must take practical steps to overcome the crisis. However, his statement did not give details of specific military action in response to any new attack.

Claim to shoot down US drone in Bandar Abbas

On the other hand, the Iranian military has claimed that its air defence system shot down a US military LUCAS drone over the southern coastal city of Bandar Abbas. According to the Iranian military, the operation was carried out under the country’s integrated air defence network.

However, the incident could not be independently verified, and at the time of reporting, there was no official response from the US military to the claim of downing the drone. Details regarding the drone’s mission and the full circumstances of the incident were also not clarified.

Bandar Abbas is a major port city located near the Strait of Hormuz. The repercussions of any military incident in this area are not limited to Iran and the United States but are also important for the security and maritime traffic of the Gulf region.

Reports of possible US and Israeli attacks

In addition, reports have emerged regarding the planning of possible new attacks on Iran by the US and Israeli forces. According to a report by the American broadcaster NPR on October 22, a source familiar with the planning said that both countries are preparing for a possible operation in early November. The report also revealed the possibility that the military preparations may be aimed at pressuring Iran to negotiate.

A Bloomberg report published on October 25 also mentioned the possibility of US President Donald Trump resuming military action against Iran after the election. However, based on the available information, the final date or the start of any new attack cannot be confirmed.

In the current situation, Iran’s harsh rhetoric, drone claims, and reports of possible military action indicate that tensions in the region remain high. Future developments will depend on decisions, diplomatic contacts, and military activities between Washington and Tehran.
