A statement issued by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) said that the total cement consumption in August 2025 increased by 12.45% compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to the data, consumption in the domestic market alone was recorded at 3.1 million tons, up by 10.33%, while exports also increased by 22% to 749 thousand tons.

The report said that the total consumption of cement in the first two months of the current fiscal year (July and August) was 7.847 million tons, up 21 percent. In the same period, local consumption was recorded at 6.09 million tons with an increase of 14.25 percent.

The APCMA spokesperson said that the country is facing difficulties due to rains and floods, so the government should reduce tax on cement so that the cost of rehabilitation of the affected areas can be reduced.
