Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed strong displeasure over the continuous poor performance in cleanliness and administrative matters in the province and has directed action to be taken against the concerned officers and contractors.
In the meeting, she was informed that several projects of the Shatra Punjab programme are not meeting the required standards, on which the Chief Minister ordered immediate action against the private contractors who are giving poor results.
She also expressed anger over the fact that urban accidents due to stray dog bites and open manholes are still occurring in many districts, even though the administration has been provided with full funds and powers in this regard.
Maryam Nawaz directed for 24-hour monitoring of encroachments through CCTV cameras in all districts to improve governance.
She said that violation of the government tariff will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those responsible.
The Chief Minister said that despite machinery worth billions of rupees and a workforce of more than 150,000, it is not acceptable to see heaps of garbage in the city.
She also hinted at replacing the district heads who are showing poor performance.
