Washington: During a press briefing at the White House, US President Donald Trump confirmed that his administration is preparing to launch a new round of sanctions against Russia. This announcement came in the wake of Russia’s recent attacks on Ukraine.
When a journalist asked him about further measures against Russia, Trump clearly said, “Yes, we are moving towards the next phase of sanctions against Russia.”
During this, he also described his telephone conversation with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as positive.
Donald Trump has also expressed anger at some European allies for continuing to trade oil and other products with Russia. He has also imposed heavy tariffs on India for buying oil from Russia to increase pressure on the global market and make the sanctions effective.
