ECC Greenlights Rs. 25 Billion Ramadan Relief Package 2026

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), led by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, has officially approved a Rs. 25 billion relief package to support citizens during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

Key Financial Highlights:

  • Immediate Funding: Rs. 19 billion authorized for instant release.
  • Operational Budget: Rs. 1 billion set aside for administrative and distribution costs.
  • Flexible Support: An additional Rs. 5 billion remains on standby based on fiscal space and demand.

Digital & Direct Delivery

In a move to ensure transparency, the ECC has mandated that all relief funds be transferred directly to beneficiaries via:

  • Banking Channels
  • Digital Wallets

This strategy aims to eliminate middleman interference and ensure that 100% of the subsidy reaches the poorest households. The Finance Division has been directed to oversee the distribution closely to maintain strict accountability.

Impact: The package is designed to provide immediate purchasing power to millions of families for essential food items during Sehri and Iftar.
