The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming by-elections to fill one vacant Senate seat and three seats in the Punjab Assembly. These polls are set to take place in October and November 2025.
Senate Seat By-Election
Polling for the Senate seat left vacant following the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Shibli Faraz will be held on October 30. Candidates interested in contesting this crucial seat can submit their nomination papers on October 8 and 9.
Punjab Assembly By-Elections
The ECP has scheduled by-elections for the following three vacant Punjab Assembly constituencies, all of which will go to the polls on November 23:
- PP-115 Faisalabad
- PP-116 Faisalabad
- PP-269 Muzaffargarh
The two Faisalabad seats became vacant after the disqualification of former members Shahid Javed and Muhammad Ismail. Candidates for PP-115 and PP-116 must submit their nomination papers by October 15.
For the PP-269 Muzaffargarh constituency, the nomination process is scheduled to run from October 13 to October 15.
The electoral body has issued a strict directive to all participating candidates and political parties to adhere meticulously to the announced schedule and ensure complete compliance with the Election Code of Conduct.
