The hearing on the July fuel price adjustment was completed under the chairmanship of Nepra Chairman Waseem Mukhtar, after which the decision will be issued in the form of a notification.
According to Nepra officials, the government had requested to reduce electricity prices by Rs 1.69 per unit in July. With the implementation of this reduction, consumers across the country, including K-Electric customers, are expected to get a relief of about Rs 23 billion in September bills.
The authority clarified that this relief will be for only one month, while the Ministry of Energy has informed Nepra through a letter about the instructions of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).
