Peshawar: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has warned that the current government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is leading the province towards a serious crisis, where even a basic sector like education is not being taken seriously.

Addressing a function in Peshawar, he said that the condition of government schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is deteriorating day by day, while the government’s focus is on other unnecessary matters instead of education.

“70 percent of children are still deprived of quality education. We ourselves have given IT training to 10,000 children; if we can do it, why can’t the government?” Hafiz Naeem raised the question.

He said that the provincial government is following a policy of outsourcing educational institutions, which may become an obstacle to the privatization of education in the future and the access of the common man.

He claimed that the universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also fallen into a severe financial crisis, which has put the future of higher education at risk.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that, unfortunately, politicians unite for personal interests but remain completely silent on issues like education and public welfare.

He demanded that the government immediately impose an educational emergency and make a comprehensive plan to strengthen government educational institutions.
