Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan and General Secretary Salman Akram Raja have issued important statements on the political crisis and ongoing tension in the country and have stressed the path of talks and constitutional struggle.

Talking to journalists in Charsadda, Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan said that PTI still believes in meaningful talks to resolve the political issues of the country.  He expressed hope that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will play a positive role in the opposition alliance. Barrister Gohar said that in the current situation, all parties should put aside their stubbornness and ego and come to the negotiating table so that the country can be rescued from the challenges it is facing.

He ruled out the possibility of imposing Governor’s Rule or Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that this is not a solution to any problem. Furthermore, he clarified that PTI stands with the state in the fight against terrorism and quoted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi as saying that he has never made any statement in support of terrorists.

On the other hand, while talking to the media at the Lahore High Court, PTI General Secretary Salman Akram Raja announced that a large number of party convoys from Punjab would participate in the upcoming long march. He said that innocent people will not be left homeless and PTI is firmly committed to its principles and constitutional position.

Salman Akram Raja strongly condemned the arrests and alleged kidnappings of party workers in Peshawar and criticized the ongoing political fascism in the country and demanded that the authorities come to their senses.
