The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, robustly opposed military strategies because he believed they would not resolve Pakistan’s national difficulties. He spoke at a Jamaat-e-Islami peace jirga which his party held in Islamabad to stress that his party never supported such anti-peace operations. Rehman explained that Pakistan serves as the primary place of support for worldwide Muslims, while the current elite administration has caused the nation to deteriorate. He drew lessons from Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to explain how these areas could safeguard their borders without foreign interference.
During his speech, Rehman strongly denounced the military policies of Pervez Musharraf since 2001 because they displaced populations while destroying homes following US recommendations. A few leaders’ decisions have delivered catastrophic effects upon the 250 million people who live in Pakistan. According to Rehman, the nation requires political and peaceful methods to resolve its difficulties instead of military intervention because Pakistan needs mutual harmony based on sacrifice for its prosperous future.
