JD Vance acknowledges Pakistan’s diplomatic role, calls peace in Middle East a top priority

LAUSANNE (Pakistans Today) — US Vice President JD Vance has said that establishing peace in the Middle East is among the top priorities of the US, and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to achieve this goal are valuable. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, saying that both leaders have played a positive role in promoting regional stability.

During a meeting on the sidelines of the Lake Lausanne Summit, the US Vice President said that Pakistan has played a constructive role in recent diplomatic activities, which is being appreciated at the global level. According to him, Pakistan’s leadership has helped promote contacts between different parties and improve the atmosphere for dialogue.

JD Vance said that the US is currently working on various diplomatic initiatives to reduce tensions in the Middle East and establish lasting peace. He clarified that the US administration considers stability in the region essential for global security and economic development.

He said about Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir that he is a professional and talented military leader who has played an effective role in important national and regional issues. According to the US Vice President, Pakistan’s role is being viewed positively around the world.

During the conversation, JD Vance also spoke about Iran and said that the US wants Iran’s positive role for peace. He said that if all parties prioritize negotiations and diplomacy, lasting stability can be created in the region.

Expressing concern over the situation in Lebanon, he said that US President Donald Trump is making active diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions. According to him, some positive progress has been made in recent days regarding ceasefire and conflict resolution.

The US Vice President added that President Trump has directed the US team to focus on a new beginning and establishing better relations. He said that the United States supports improving relations with the Iranian people and confidence-building measures in the region.

According to political experts, JD Vance’s statements indicate that the United States is prioritizing the diplomatic path to resolve conflicts in the Middle East. At the same time, Pakistan is being seen as a country that can play a supporting role in contacts and dialogue between different parties.

In his closing remarks, the US vice president said that today is important for peace, development and the end of crises. According to him, if the negotiation process continues, it can have positive effects not only at the regional but also at the global level.
