Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has appealed to the nation to give a new commitment at the three-day “Baddel-do-Nizam” gathering to be held at Minar-e-Pakistan. His speech combined the topics of foreign policy, economic injustice and international oppression.

Naeem-ur-Rehman stressed that Pakistan’s foreign policy cannot be a means of enslavement for any country — “Nobody, including America, should have the right to rob” — and at the same time said that the manner of differences should be such that the dignity of the nation is maintained.

He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and stated that Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable. In his words, “Kashmir belongs to Pakistan, and Pakistan belongs to Kashmir” — and that Jamaat-e-Islami is making the issue of Kashmir and Palestine a key priority of its movement.

On the aspect of social justice, the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer criticised the contractor system, saying that it does not give women their rights and that the ruling class is indifferent to the problems of the people. He vowed that if he comes to power, every woman will be given full rights in inheritance.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that the current political and economic system works in the interests of “landlords and investors”, and that Jamaat-e-Islami’s new strategy is based on building an Islamic and democratic system that is based on the principles of justice and transparency. At the end of the gathering, he will present his future roadmap, which will form the basis for real change in the country.
