People in Lahore are really feeling the squeeze as milk and yogurt prices have jumped yet again. What used to cost Rs200 a litre for milk is now going for Rs220. Yogurt’s not far behind, climbing from Rs240 per kilo to Rs260. Local shoppers aren’t happy. Many say it’s getting harder to balance their household budgets with everything just getting more expensive, especially essentials like dairy.

Plenty of customers at the markets are frustrated, saying staples like milk and yogurt should stay affordable for regular families. Most want the government to step in and do something to bring prices down, or at least keep them in check.

In Lahore, milk and yogurt aren’t luxuries—they’re everyday necessities. When prices go up, even just a bit, it hits families hard. For households with kids, these increases hurt the most. Milk’s a daily need, so there’s no easy way to cut back without feeling the pinch.

Shop owners and traders blame the hikes on rising costs across the board. Transportation’s more expensive, feeding livestock costs more, and retailers say they just can’t absorb all those extra costs on their own—they have to pass some to the customer.

Food inflation is on everyone’s mind these days. When the price of basics like milk and yogurt shoots up, people start worrying even more about how much it costs just to get by.

A lot of residents want the government to pay closer attention and make sure everyday goods stay within reach for normal people. Some say relief measures are urgent—something has to be done to help families keep up.

This latest price hike comes at a time when shoppers are watching every rupee. Most are just hoping for some stability in the market, but with increases like this, that’s starting to feel like wishful thinking.
