The motorway has been reopened for general traffic after the religious party’s protest ended. After several days of closure, traffic has now resumed on M-2, M-3 and other main routes.

According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, all entry and exit routes on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) have been reopened. Containers placed at Babu Sabu, Thokar Niaz Baig and Sheikhupura interchanges have been removed, after which traffic flow has been restored.

Motorway Police officials say that traffic is also running as usual on the M-1 Motorway (Islamabad-Peshawar). However, citizens have been directed to check the weather and traffic updates before traveling to avoid any possible disruptions.

According to officials, the restoration of the motorway has provided travel convenience to citizens and has improved inter-provincial connectivity
