Quetta: First Muharram 1447 AH will begin in Pakistan on Thursday, June 27, 2025. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, officially announced the sighting of the moon during a press conference in Quetta.
According to the chairman, moon sightings were received from across the country, which were announced after Sharia verification. Accordingly, Ashura Day will be observed on Sunday, July 6.
Maulana Abdul Khabir appealed to the nation to demonstrate complete patience, unity, and peace during the holy days of Muharram.
The meeting ended with a message of peace and tolerance, where scholars, scientists, and technical experts also participated.
