In a major step towards providing affordable energy to the public, the government has announced a new policy for the provision of RLNG connections to domestic consumers.

The decision, spearheaded by Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, is being hailed as a significant milestone in overcoming the nation’s gas crisis. Minister Malik, who presided over a key meeting on the matter, stated that this new initiative is a crucial part of the Prime Minister’s vision for ensuring a reliable and cost-effective fuel supply for households.

According to the minister, RLNG is approximately 30 percent cheaper than LPG, offering substantial economic relief to consumers. The government’s ambitious target is to benefit a large number of citizens within the first year of the policy’s implementation. To facilitate a transparent and efficient application process, the Ministry of Energy has announced that consumers will have multiple channels to apply for connections, including online portals, mobile applications, and through the local offices of Sui Northern and Sui Southern Gas Companies.

To ensure direct monitoring and prevent delays, separate project management offices will be established in both Sui companies. This new policy also offers relief to applicants who had previously paid for natural gas connections; they will now be able to secure an RLNG connection by simply paying the remaining differential amount.

This move is expected to bring great relief to many who have been waiting for connections for a long time.

Experts believe that this project will not only address the growing energy demand but will also be instrumental in moving Pakistan towards a more sustainable and secure energy future.
