Dubai: New Zealand cricket team captain Mitchell Santner declares that Indian spinners represent a significant challenge because 250 runs could be enough to secure victory from the Dubai playing conditions. During his Dubai pre-final press interview Santner acknowledged that facing India remains an enormous challenge because they understand the present pitch conditions perfectly well.
Due to their limited playing experience in Dubai New Zealand lacks proper understanding of how the pitch will behave in this match. Several of their players stand at their first ICC tournament final experience and are also newcomers to the squad.
Santner expressed that the slow conditions of Dubai pitch will direct their team toward managing a powerful performance. The Kiwi player admitted the tough task he will face against Indian spinners particularly Varun Chakravarthy.
The New Zealand captain expressed respect for his batsmen by saying their skills enable them to handle the challenge of spin bowling effectively. He predicted that scoring 250 might result in victory on the Dubai pitch however the pitch conditions throughout the final are unclear.
The team will decide whether to include New Zealand pacerman Matt Henry for the upcoming match prior to tomorrow. Santner showed team confidence in his players while stating they possess everything necessary to compete powerfully against India within the final match.
