Over Rs 289 billion released for house construction in Punjab

Under Punjab’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme, loans have been provided to 220,994 families, while 127,036 families have completed the construction of their houses. The latest statistics of the Housing Department have revealed details of loan distribution, construction progress and installment collection.

According to the Housing Department, a total of 224,320 loans have been approved. Out of these, a total of Rs289 billion 844 million has been released to 220,994 families.

Another 3,326 families are still in the process of repaying their loans, for which Rs4 billion 615 million has been allocated.

Regarding construction activities, the Housing Department said that 60,253 houses are under construction. In addition, the second installment has been released to 170,523 families to continue construction work.

So far, Rs 22 billion 162 million has been received from loan repayments under the programme. This amount is important for the financial management of the scheme and the provision of future loans.

Officials have termed the discrepancy in the statistics as a typing error and said that the program’s records are updated on the real-time portal. However, to check the accuracy of the statistics, it is important to review the latest information and relevant announcements on the official portal.

The objective of the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme is to provide financial assistance to eligible families for the construction of their houses. The Punjab government is committed to giving priority to merit and transparency in this project.

The progress of the project can be assessed by the number of loans, houses completed, houses under construction and timely provision of money to beneficiary families. In the next phase, the speed of loan disbursement and completion of construction work will be important indicators.

The latest data is consistent with a report published on October 22. Earlier, the report of October 17 mentioned loans worth more than Rs 284.4 billion to more than 217,000 families and the completion of 126,239 houses.
