Workers’ remittances to Pakistan reached $10.9 billion during the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, representing a 14 percent increase from $9.5 billion recorded in the same period last year, according to official data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.
Inflows for September stood at approximately $3.6 billion, marking a 12.7 percent year-on-year growth compared to September 2025, despite a slight 1.9 percent dip relative to August figures.
Saudi Arabia remained the leading source of remittances for the month, sending $899 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates with $748.5 million.
Non-resident Pakistanis in the United Kingdom and the United States contributed $515 million and $305 million respectively.
The continued momentum in foreign exchange inflows provides vital support to the country’s external balance sheet and helps stabilize current account dynamics.
