Pakistan Stock Exchange gains 440 points, crosses 137,000 mark during trading

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed sharp volatility during trading on Wednesday, however, the trading ended on a positive note, which gave some satisfaction to investors.

Trading started in the negative zone but the market soon recovered and the 100 index witnessed a huge rally. The index gained 1,078 points during the day and the index reached a high of 137,232.

However, some profit-taking at the end of the day put some pressure on the index, and the market closed at 136,379 with a gain of 440 points. The index had closed at 135,939 yesterday, while the lowest level during trading today was 135,542.

According to analysts, investor confidence has improved slightly as expectations of stability in the economy and a positive trend in international markets supported the market.
