Pakistan’s fuel prices moved in opposite directions for October 23, with petrol becoming cheaper and high-speed diesel recording an increase, according to the announced rates.
Petrol has been reduced by Rs1.60 per litre to Rs377.71, offering a modest price cut for motorists and households that rely on petrol-powered transport.
In contrast, high-speed diesel has become more expensive by Rs1.64 per litre, taking its price to Rs391.75. Diesel is widely used in public transport, freight vehicles and agricultural machinery, making its price an important factor for businesses and supply chains.
The contrasting adjustments mean petrol consumers will see a slight reduction in fuel costs, while diesel users will face a marginal increase.
Fuel prices remain a closely watched issue in Pakistan because changes can affect transportation expenses and the cost of moving goods. Any broader impact on fares and commodity prices will depend on how transport operators and businesses respond to the revised rates.
The announced prices apply for October 23.
