The federal government on Monday announced a slight revision in the prices of petroleum products, hiking petrol rates while passing on a marginal relief to consumers of high-speed diesel (HSD).
According to a official notification released by the Finance Division, petrol has been made expensive by 88 paisas per litre, whereas the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs1.88 per litre.
With the latest price adjustment, motor gasoline (petrol) will now sell at Rs393.64 per litre. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel will be available at Rs397.76 per litre.
The new fuel rates, fixed for October 6, will come into force from midnight.
Fluctuations in petroleum pricing directly impact household budgets and transport costs across the country. High-speed diesel is considered critical for commercial transport and heavy agricultural operations, while petrol is primarily used by two-wheelers and private automobiles.
