ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced the observance of the “Day of Resurrection” at the national level on May 10 every year as a tribute to the personnel and civilians martyred in recent incidents. On the occasion, the Prime Minister also announced a comprehensive relief package for the martyrs and the injured, aimed at ensuring support and dignity to their families.

The Prime Minister said that the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and its citizens will always be remembered. According to him, the construction of the affected houses and mosques will be done by the federal government, while the education and sponsorship of the children of the martyrs will be the responsibility of the state, which will be carried out with full honesty.

The prime minister announced that a marriage grant of Rs 10 lakh would be given for the marriage of one daughter of each martyr, while the injured soldiers of the Pakistan Army would be given financial assistance ranging from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh depending on their nature. In addition, the full salary and allowances will continue till the date of retirement of the martyrs, and their children will be given free education till graduation.

He added that the federal government will bear all the expenses for the treatment of the injured, and those serving for the defense of the homeland will be awarded at the national level. It has also been decided to observe every Friday as a day to pay tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said that these steps are not only the responsibility of the government but also the collective debt of the entire nation, and the sacrifices of the martyrs will be preserved by making them a bright chapter in national history.
