Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the growing dangers from terrorists and outsiders in Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, need a planned national strategy that includes both the federal government and the provincial governments. In his speech at the meeting of the Apex Committee, the Prime Minister stressed how important it was for the country to work together to deal with security problems both inside and outside the country.
He was sure that if the federal and regional governments worked together, they could improve law and order, which would make Pakistan safer and more prosperous. Assuring everyone that the terrorists behind the cross-border attacks had been given a “befitting reply,” he said that getting rid of terrorism would depend on everyone working together.
The Prime Minister also talked about the danger that comes from outside of Pakistan, especially from people who spread lies about Pakistan. He talked about “friendly enemies” outside the country who use social media and other digital tools to spread lies. He warned that this “digital terrorism” is a big problem. He asked everyone to work together to fight these lies and made it clear that both the states and the central government had to do their part to stop the online spread of false information.
PM Sharif also spoke about the deaths of security staff and thanked the Rangers, police officers, and soldiers who gave their lives to protect the country. In order to fight terrorists, he said, we needed to use current technology and make law enforcement stronger, especially in places like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan that are weak. He also said that there are people inside Pakistan who are working against Pakistan’s best interests and with other countries to make the country less stable.
At the end, the prime minister said again that Pakistan’s safety and progress must always come first and that all of the country’s people and leaders must work together to keep the country safe and moving forward.
