Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is making serious efforts for peace and stability in the region, and the government is hopeful about establishing permanent peace.

He said that the world leadership trusts Pakistan and the country is playing a positive role in international diplomacy.

Shahbaz Sharif said that like 240 million Pakistanis, he is proud to be a Pakistani, and Pakistan is strengthening its identity as a responsible state in the international community.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the role of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in the negotiation process. He said that the national leadership has shown wisdom and restraint on important issues.

On the question of Afghanistan, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan had only demanded from the Kabul government that Afghan soil should not be used by terrorist groups.

He said that Pakistan wants cooperation for the elimination of terrorism in the region and border peace.

Talking about the Pakistan-India tension, Shahbaz Sharif said that if US President Donald Trump had not intervened, South Asia could have faced a major disaster.

According to the Prime Minister, the effects of a possible war could have been very serious, and there was a risk of large-scale damage in the region.

According to political observers, the prime minister’s statement highlights the importance of peace, diplomacy and international mediation in the region, while also clarifying Pakistan’s position on Afghanistan and India.

Analysts say that Pakistan is currently trying to maintain regional stability and diplomatic balance at the global level, the effects of which may become more noticeable in the coming days.
