An important clarification has come out for citizens benefiting from the Prime Minister’s Petrol Subsidy Scheme. According to the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association, to get subsidised petrol, the vehicle must be registered in the relevant system and a token must be generated.
Association leader Noman Ali Butt said that petrol pump owners will provide subsidies based on the records in the government system. The vehicle and token details will be verified upon the customer’s arrival.
He clarified that the token issued for a specific vehicle cannot be used for another vehicle. The aim of this procedure is to limit the subsidy to the relevant customer.
The association has advised citizens to check the details of their vehicle and token status before going to the petrol pump. In case of errors in the record or incomplete details, the consumer may have difficulty in obtaining subsidised fuel.
According to the instructions of the authorities, petrol pump owners will not be able to provide subsidised petrol without verification in the system. Therefore, it is necessary for the beneficiaries of the scheme to maintain correct registration and complete records.
