The provincial government has announced the allocation of record resources for the education and health sectors in the next financial year. Rs 750 billion has been proposed for education, which aims to improve the quality of education, provide modern technology and increase the skills of the youth. In this regard, billions of rupees have been allocated for the establishment of IT labs in colleges.

It has been proposed to allocate Rs 500 billion for the health sector. The government says that providing modern medical facilities, building specialized hospitals and improving the emergency medical services system are among the priorities. Large funds have also been allocated for the Nawaz Sharif Medical District, cancer hospitals and children’s hospitals.

The proposal for a 7 percent salary increase for government employees is a key part of the budget. The move is said to be aimed at reducing the effects of inflation and providing financial assistance to employees. Similarly, a 3.5 percent increase has been proposed for pensioners.

In the law and order sector, a significant amount has been allocated for modern policing, crime scene units and improving police infrastructure in remote areas. The government maintains that effective law enforcement agencies are essential for promoting investment and economic activities.

Major projects have also been announced in the transport sector. Mass transit systems in Faisalabad and Gujranwala, electric bus projects and regional railway programs are part of the government’s long-term vision. According to experts, these projects can improve urban transportation as well as reduce environmental pollution.

The budget also includes a plan to establish autism schools in every division for children with special needs, which is being described as a major development in the social sector.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, while describing the budget as a budget of hope, development and public service, has said that the government is committed to providing public welfare and basic amenities despite limited resources. The success of the budget in the next financial year will depend on how effectively the projects are implemented and how quickly the people get their practical benefits.
