The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has released the schedule for the auction of a large stock of sugar in Karachi. The said stock is kept in the Papri warehouses of Karachi and will be sold through a regular open tender.
According to the TCP announcement, interested buyers can submit their bids till 12:15 pm on December 3, 2025, while the bids will be opened at 12:45 pm at the head office in Karachi.
The institution has clarified that the purchase of tenders is mandatory to participate in the auction, which will be available from the regional offices of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. TCP has also said that the institution has the full authority to accept or reject any bid submitted.
According to experts, the current auction can play an important role in maintaining the stability of sugar prices in the market.
According to experts, if this process is completed in a transparent manner, it will reduce import pressure and also reduce government procurement costs, the benefit of which can reach consumers.
