Two Arrested After Teenager Rescued Alive in Sargodha, Third Suspect Sought

The incident of a 14-year-old boy allegedly being kidnapped and buried alive in Sargodha’s Jhal Chakian area has raised serious concerns. Police have arrested two suspects for their involvement in the incident, while raids are being conducted at various locations to arrest the third suspect.

According to police, the victim was rescued by locals when a passerby saw his hand sticking out of the ground. On receiving information, the locals immediately reached the spot and pulled the boy out by removing the soil. He was later shifted to the hospital in critical condition, where he is undergoing treatment.

Sargodha District Police Officer (DPO) Sohaib Ashraf said that according to initial investigations, the victim had told his family some time ago that he had been allegedly raped. Police said that after this information, the suspects feared that legal action might be taken against them, after which the boy was allegedly kidnapped again.

According to the DPO, the accused tried to take the victim boy to a deserted place and bury him alive. However, due to timely information and immediate action by the locals, the boy’s life was saved. The police took immediate action after the incident and arrested the two main accused and registered a case against them.

Police officials said that a special team has been formed to arrest the third accused, and raids are being conducted in different areas. After the health of the victim boy improves, his detailed statement will be recorded, in the light of which the investigation will be taken further.

According to the investigating officials, all evidence related to the incident is being collected, including forensic evidence, inspection of the crime scene and other legal requirements. Police say that a transparent investigation of the case will be ensured so that all responsible persons can be punished according to the law.

This incident has come to light at a time when several cases of crimes against children have been reported in Sargodha in recent days. A few days ago, a seven-year-old girl was found dead, while the initial post-mortem report claimed that there was evidence of rape. Later, the police said that the main accused in the case died during an alleged police encounter.

Legal experts and social workers say that immediate police action alone is not enough to prevent crimes against children, but providing psychological, medical and legal support to the affected children is also very important. They say that transparent investigations, prompt judicial proceedings and an effective punishment system in such cases can play an important role in restoring public trust.

The police have also appealed to the citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity or crime against children to the relevant agencies so that timely action can be taken to prevent such incidents. Officials say that investigations are underway from all angles into the incident, and more details will be revealed after the investigation is completed.
