Iran’s leadership has called for legal action against the US and Israel and has instructed the judiciary to play an active role in this regard. Iranian authorities maintain that legal channels must be adopted to compensate for the human and financial losses caused by recent military attacks.
According to Iranian media, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said that the attacks on Iran in June 2025 and February 2026 killed and injured many civilians, while government facilities, medical centers and public service infrastructure were also damaged.
He urged the judiciary to file a wide range of cases based on these incidents so that legal action can be taken to protect the rights of the victims and hold those responsible accountable.
The Iranian leadership says that statements by some US and Israeli officials can also be considered as legal evidence related to these operations, as they mention the attacks. However, there has been no fresh official comment from the US and Israel on these claims.
According to experts, legal proceedings in international disputes are often complex and lengthy processes, which depend on the jurisdiction of the relevant courts, the available evidence and international law.
Analysts say that Iran’s recent strategy shows that it is trying to strengthen its position on both diplomatic and legal fronts. At the same time, the judiciary has been instructed to play a more active role in protecting public rights, the provision of justice, the rule of law and national interests.
According to experts, if Iran approaches international legal forums, the diplomatic and political repercussions of this matter could be felt beyond the region, however, any progress in this regard will depend on future legal measures and the reactions of the countries concerned.
