The restoration of diplomatic relations between the United States and Iran has once again put the Strait of Hormuz in the center of global attention. The two countries have agreed to reduce tensions and now their delegations will meet in the Qatari capital Doha for a new round of talks.

According to international media reports, after an initial consensus, the two countries have decided to avoid any action during the talks that could increase tensions in the region. The aim of this decision is to advance the diplomatic process and promote confidence-building.

Reuters quoted a US official as saying that technical discussions on various points of the memorandum of understanding will continue, while attention will also be paid to ensuring the normal passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

On the other hand, a US news website has claimed that Washington has decided to stop military operations during the negotiation process. Although there has been no official announcement in this regard, this information is being considered an indication of an improvement in the diplomatic environment.

According to experts, the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important shipping lanes, through which a large amount of crude oil and natural gas is transported globally. For this reason, the effects of any tension arising in this area are immediately felt on global energy markets, the shipping industry and trade activities.

According to sources, the talks to be held in Doha on Tuesday will discuss regional security, maritime transport, confidence-building and the future diplomatic framework. The US technical delegation will be led by Nick Stewart, while the Iranian delegation will also participate with relevant experts.

Analysts say that if the talks between the two countries are successful, it could have positive effects not only on the Middle East but also on the global economy, energy prices and international trade. However, they also say that the final results of the talks will depend on the upcoming talks and practical steps taken by both sides.
