The government has once again increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel. The new prices will be effective from September 4.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 2.84 per litre. After this increase, petrol will be available at Rs 349 per litre.

High-speed diesel has also become expensive. Its price has been increased by Rs 2.28 per litre. The new price has been fixed at Rs 374.31 per litre.

The new prices will be implemented after 12 midnight on September 4. With this, the sale of petroleum products across the country will start at the new rates.

After the recent decision, the price of petrol has reached Rs 349 per litre. Earlier, petrol was being sold at Rs 346.16 per litre. The previous price of diesel was Rs 372.3 per litre.

The continuous change in the prices of petroleum products has an impact on the daily expenses of the common citizens. The cost of using private vehicles and motorcycles due to the increase in petrol prices may increase.

The increase in the price of diesel is also important. Diesel is used more in freight vehicles and other means of transport. Therefore, its increase in price may affect the cost of transporting goods.

According to OGRA, the prices of petroleum products are determined under the government procedure. Oil prices in the global market and other related costs play an important role in this process.

With the announcement of the new prices, the fuel prices have continued to increase in early September. Consumers will now keep an eye on the possible changes in prices in the next revision.
