The federal government has reduced petrol and high-speed diesel prices, providing some relief to consumers amid changing petroleum market conditions.
Under the latest revision, petrol will cost Rs 374.51 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs 377.91. The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been reduced from Rs 402.96 to Rs 395.20 per litre.
The revised prices will take effect from November 3, 2026, according to the notification issued on November 2.
Petrol has become cheaper by Rs 3.40 per litre, while diesel has recorded a larger reduction of Rs 7.76 per litre.
The revised rates have been determined under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism, which provides the basis for calculating ex-depot fuel prices.
The latest reduction follows the previous revision, under which petrol remained unchanged at Rs 377.91 per litre while diesel increased to Rs 402.96.
New petroleum prices in Pakistan
| Petroleum product | Previous price | New price | Reduction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Rs377.91 | Rs374.51 | Rs3.40 |
| High-speed diesel | Rs402.96 | Rs395.20 | Rs7.76 |
The reduction in diesel prices is expected to ease some fuel costs for transport operators and businesses that depend on diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. However, the overall impact on transport fares and commodity prices will depend on other operating costs and market conditions.
Pakistan’s petroleum pricing mechanism takes international oil market movements into account. OGRA provides official petroleum price notifications and publishes pricing information through its website.
