Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar has met party founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi at Adiala Jail, following repeated requests to prison authorities.
In a statement, Safdar said jail officials arranged the meeting at around 4:30pm on Monday. The session lasted approximately 40 minutes.
He said the meeting with Bushra Bibi took place after a gap of 11 months, while he had not met Imran Khan for around seven months.
The lawyer said the available time was insufficient to discuss all pending cases and legal matters in detail.
During the meeting, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi briefed him about their health and living conditions inside the prison, according to Safdar.
Safdar further stated that both had provided fresh instructions regarding their ongoing cases and other legal matters. He said the discussions covered issues requiring further legal consultation.
The lawyer’s statement did not provide specific details of the new instructions or the medical and prison-condition concerns discussed during the meeting.
The meeting comes amid continuing discussions over access to the PTI founder and his wife at Adiala Jail, where meetings with lawyers and family members have previously been the subject of legal proceedings
