Pakistan Raises Security Concerns Over US Weapons Left in Afghanistan

FILE PHOTO

Islamabad: The Pakistani government shows concern about American weapons left over in Afghanistan because these abandoned weapons present security dangers.

Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that discarded US weapons after the August 2021 military pullout endanger Pakistani people together with their nation. He explained how these weapons link to terrorist operations executed by Fitan Al-Khawarij and other terrorist organizations throughout Pakistan.

The Pakistani government has urged the Afghan interim government multiple times to prioritize weapons security so militant groups cannot obtain them.
