Peshawar University Hosts Prestigious ICC Champions Trophy Unveiling Ceremony

Peshawar: Peshawar University held the esteemed ICC Champions Trophy revealing event, a momentous occasion highlighting the link between sports and education. Attended by influential people from the sports and academic spheres, the event underlined the need for encouraging both intellectual and physical development among students. Emphasising the significance of including sports with education, Secretary of Sports for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Dawood Khan, said, “It is essential to promote sports alongside academics, as both are crucial for the holistic development of our young.” He expressed delight at Peshawar University being selected as the site, pointing out it shows the university’s dedication to producing well-rounded people.

Secretary Dawood Khan also praised the efforts of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), stressing his commitment to bringing international cricket back to Pakistan. “We are appreciative of Mohsin Naqvi’s relentless efforts to bring Pakistan back to being a centre for international cricket,” he added. Khan expressed hope for the national team’s success in the next event so as to make the country proud. The ICC Champions Trophy Tour ends in Karachi on February 14; cricket enthusiasts all throughout the nation are looking forward to the last match.
