Islamabad: The lawyers group from Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and its political wing have intensified their differences that now threaten the party unity. The lawyers group of PTI submitted official complaints to party leadership directed at Sher Afzal Marwat and Ali Amin Gandapur and Asad Qaiser and Junaid Akbar. The lawyers group has reportedly managed to pressure PTI into forcing Sher Afzal Marwat out of the party.
PTI’s founding leadership received complaints from their lawyers group about both the low attendance numbers at the Swabi Jalsa and insufficient funding from Ali Amin Gandapur. The party members accused Ali Amin Gandapur of not supplying enough funds to cover the rally, which worsened their internal tension.
PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar dismissed reports of disputes with Ali Amin Gandapur when he said that his organization did not ask Gandapur for funds and there existed no tension between both parties. I acted by raising his hand as an expression of solidarity, which sent a message about unity to everyone present.
Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai from PTI supported Asad Qaiser by dismissing all false accusations against him. Through his work, Qaiser has proven vital for advancing the opposition coalition, according to Yousafzai.
The split within PTI shows increasing dissension among party members, which creates doubts about the party’s future direction.
