The federal government has announced to maintain the current price of petrol while increasing diesel price.
According to a notification by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of diesel has been increased by Rs 2.29 per liter, after which its new price has been set at Rs 402.96.
On the other hand, there has been no change in the price of petrol. Its current price will remain at Rs 377.91 per liter.
According to the notification, the new prices of petroleum products will be applicable immediately and these rates will remain effective till November 2, 2026.
The increase in diesel price is likely to affect the costs of transport, freight and agricultural sectors, as diesel is used in large vehicles, trucks, buses and agricultural machinery.
With the maintenance of petrol prices, consumers using motorcycles and private vehicles will not have to face any additional cost for the time being.
