KSE-100 Jumps 1,841 Points as Stock Market Rally Continues

Investor interest remained prominent on the last day of the trading week at the Pakistan Stock Exchange and the market’s most important index recorded an increase of more than 1,800 points.

At the end of trading, the KSE-100 index rose by 1,841.39 points to 170,884.59 points. Thus, the index increased by 1.09 percent compared to the previous level. The KSE-100 opened at 169,399.99 points.

The market also witnessed volatility during trading. The KSE-100 index touched a high of 171,036.72 points during the session. Its low was 169,399.99 points. The overall closing level reflected the positive trend of the day.

Shares of large companies played a major role in the index’s rally. According to available data, FFC added 225.28 points to the KSE-100, while UBL contributed 207.49 points. MEBL contributed 142.03 points, LUCK 141.17 points and HBL 117.24 points.

On the other hand, the decline in shares of some companies limited the overall increase in the index. PSFL contributed 30.20 points negatively. SRVI fell by 24.35 points, NESTLE by 14.13 points, GHNI by 11.57 points and AICL by 9.02 points.

The KMI-30 index also showed a positive trend on the same day. The index opened at 241,159.31 points and reached a high of 243,537.38 points during the trading session. At the end, KMI-30 gained 2,522.69 points and closed at 243,139.25 points. On a daily basis, the index remained up by 1.05 percent.

In KMI-30, FFC contributed the most positively with 433.85 points. MEBL added 404.66, LUCK added 402.21, PPL added 222.72 and ENGROH added 148.08 points.

On the other hand, GHNI exerted the most pressure on the index with a negative contribution of 32.97 points. ATRL, GAL, PRL and NRL were also among the prominent stocks contributing negatively.

At the end of the trading day, the FYTD performance of KSE-100 was negative 5.22 percent and CYTD performance was negative 1.82 percent, while the FYTD performance of KMI-30 was negative 5.51 percent and CYTD performance was negative 2.17 percent.
