Petrol is cheaper; the diesel price has slightly changed

The government has announced a new change in the rates of petroleum products. Under the latest decision, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 1.65 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel has also been reduced by 88 paise. The new prices will be effective from September 19 to 21
After the government’s decision, the new price of petrol has become Rs 389.14 per litre. High-speed diesel will be available for Rs 424.4 per litre. In this way, consumers using petrol will get a slight relief. Diesel prices have also been reduced slightly.
This change in the prices of petroleum products has come about based on the global oil prices and local prices. The Petroleum Division issued a notification regarding the new prices on September 18. The new entry of petroleum product prices for September 18 is also available on the website of the Ministry of Energy.
The latest decision is being seen in the context of continuous changes in fuel prices in recent days. Earlier, the government had reduced petrol by 43 paise per litre for September 18. However, the price of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs 3.47 per litre. After this decision, petrol has become Rs 390.79 paise and diesel Rs 424.92 per litre.
According to the new rates, the latest reduction in petrol prices will have a minor difference per litre for consumers. On the other hand, the reduction in diesel prices is also important for the transport and freight sectors, as these sectors use diesel more.
The current rates will remain relevant for consumers until September 21. Thereafter, the next prices will be determined based on global oil prices and other relevant factors.
