The government has made minor changes in the prices of petroleum products since October 7, under which petrol has become expensive while the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced.
According to the notification issued, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 1.19 per liter. After this increase, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 394.83 per liter.
The price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 1.91 per liter. The new price has become Rs 395.85 per liter.
According to officials, this change in prices has been made based on the recent movement in the prices of petroleum products in the global market.
OGRA had sent its recommendations regarding the new prices to the concerned authorities, after which the government announced the revised prices.
A minor change in the prices of petrol and diesel can have a direct impact on daily travel expenses and freight. Diesel prices, in particular, are linked to the costs of transport and various industrial activities.
The new rates issued by the government will be effective from October 7. Future pricing will also be determined, taking into account global market trends and other relevant factors.
