Investor confidence remained intact during the business week that ended at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), resulting in an overall positive trend in the market, and the key benchmark KSE-100 index closed with a significant increase.

According to weekly data, the KSE-100 index recorded a total increase of 5,072 points, after which the index was able to end the week at 176,094 points. The bullish trend in the market continued due to increased investment in various sectors and buying pressure.

During the business week, the KSE-100 index moved in a band of 4,510 points. During this period, the highest level of the index was 179,123 points, while the lowest level was 174,612 points, reflecting the volatility in the market throughout the week.

A total of 4.15 billion shares were traded on the Pakistan Stock Exchange during the week, worth about Rs 158 billion. Continued activity in the market indicates investor interest and an increase in trading volume.

Meanwhile, a significant improvement was also seen in the total value of the market (market capitalisation). Market capitalisation rose to Rs 19,755 billion after an increase of Rs 477 billion during the week, reflecting a positive investment trend in the stock market.

Analysts say that if economic indicators, corporate results and investor confidence remain the same, there is a possibility of maintaining the positive momentum in the Pakistan Stock Exchange in the coming weeks.
