Cold and dry weather forecast in most parts of the country, smog to persist in Punjab

The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather will remain cold and dry in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours, while the intensity of cold is expected to increase further in the hilly areas.

According to the Meteorological Department, smog and light fog will continue in the plains of Punjab, while the weather is expected to remain cold and dry in Murree, Galiyat and Islamabad. The frost will increase in the morning and night hours.

According to the organization, dry weather is expected in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and cold weather is expected in the hilly areas. The weather will remain relatively hot and dry in the southern and central parts of Sindh, while cold weather has been predicted in the northern districts of Balochistan and dry weather in other areas.

The weather will remain cold and dry in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the Meteorological Department said. The weather remained dry across the country during the last 24 hours, however, a light layer of smog was seen in some districts of Punjab.

According to the Meteorological Department, the lowest temperature was recorded in Leh at minus 5 degrees Celsius, while the temperature was minus 3 degrees in Kalam, Skardu and Ziarat.

The minimum temperature in Islamabad was recorded at 6 and the maximum at 29 degrees Celsius.
