Conditional permission for Basant in Lahore: celebration will be allowed for only 3 days. Uzma Bukhari

Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has said that the government has decided to give limited and conditional permission to celebrate Basant in Lahore, under which this festival can be celebrated for only three days. She said that public safety will be given top priority during Basant.

In her statement, Uzma Bukhari said that the sale of kites and strings will be at specific points and open permission will not be given across the city. She said that a complete plan has been sought from the Traffic and Transport Department so that the citizens do not face any kind of difficulties.

According to the Information Minister, efforts are being made to minimize the use of motorcycles during Basant, while the entry of motorcycles may also be banned in some areas.

Uzma Bukhari warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who violate the rules and regulations. She said that Basant is a cultural festival and the government wants it to be celebrated in a safe and civilized manner.
